Tasks
Workspace notifications
Notify Discord channels or members when a task succeeds or fails.
What is it?
Workspace notifications optionally notify Discord workspaces when a task finishes — so completion or failure alerts land in the channel (or DM) where people already watch ops updates.
Help text: “Optionally notify Discord workspaces when this task finishes.”
Requirements
- At least one connected Discord workspace
- Valid channel or member targets
How to configure
On create/edit task, open the notify block:
- Check Notify on success and/or Notify on failure.
- Choose Add target (disabled if no workspaces; hint: “Connect a Discord workspace to enable notifications.”).
- For each Target N:
- Workspace
- Destination: Channel or Direct message
- Channel (
#name) or Member
Validation messages
| Message | Fix |
|---|---|
| Select at least one notification event when targets are configured. | Enable success and/or failure. |
| Add at least one workspace target when notifications are enabled. | Add a target. |
| A channel is required for channel destinations. | Pick a channel. |
| A member is required for DM destinations. | Pick a member. |
| The selected member does not belong to this workspace. | Choose a member from that workspace. |
| Unable to load channels. | Reconnect Discord or retry later. |
Expected behavior
- Notifications go to Discord only for connected workspaces.
- Direct messages use workspace members as targets.
Limitations
- There is no separate in-app notification inbox. These alerts are Discord messages plus web toasts for app actions.
- Slack/Teams destinations are not available while those workspaces are Coming soon.
