Billing and credits
What is it?
Credits are a team balance that pays for metered AI work. Each team has one wallet. Chat, tasks, tool calls, knowledge ingest, and AI skill generation draw from that balance.
Open Team Settings → Billing, or visit https://clankee.ai/pricing for current plan prices and credit packs.
What uses credits

When credits run out, Clankee stops AI work until the team tops up or upgrades.
Claim the free plan
Eligible teams can claim a free plan once with no credit card:
- Team Settings → Billing → Claim free plan
- Onboarding You're all set step → Claim … free credits
- Sidebar Claim free plan CTA (when eligible)
Free credits are one-time. They expire after the product default period (typically 30 days). Exact amounts and expiry appear on the billing page and pricing.
Teams with paid subscription history usually cannot claim the free plan again.
Subscribe to a paid plan
Team Owner or Admin can subscribe monthly or yearly via Stripe Checkout from Team Settings → Billing or from pricing.
Paid plans unlock capabilities beyond the free tier (see below) and include recurring credits according to the plan.
Use Billing portal to update payment method, view invoices, or cancel subscription.
Buy credits
From Team Settings → Billing, choose Buy credits. Pick a quantity. Pricing uses tiered rates (larger purchases get a better per-credit rate). Purchased credits have their own expiry shown on the billing page.
Usage history
The billing page lists recent usage: action type, credits used, user, and timestamp. The team dashboard also shows credits used in the last 30 days.
Plan capabilities
Plans control capabilities, separate from team/project roles. A team with no plan cannot use gated features.

If Brain or team AI providers are missing, check the team plan first. Upgrading fixes capability gaps that roles alone cannot.

Out of credits
Clankee shows: This team is out of credits. Please top up or upgrade the plan to continue.
Chat, tasks, and AI skill generation pause until an Owner or Admin adds credits or upgrades. See Error messages.
