Invite teammates
Send, accept, and cancel team invitations in Clankee.
What is it?
Team invitations let Owners and Admins ask someone to join a team by email. Invites are for teams, not for individual projects. After someone joins the team, an Owner or project Admin can add them to projects — so they can share access to projects, integrations, and Discord-linked work.
Requirements
- You must be a team Owner or Admin.
- The invitee needs a Clankee account that uses the same email as the invitation.
How to send an invitation
Open Team settings
User menu → Team Settings, or Settings → Teams → your team.
Enter invite details
Provide an Email address and choose a Role (Admin or Member).
Send
Choose Send invitation. You should see confirmation that the invitation was sent.
You can also invite during onboarding after creating a shared team.
How to accept an invitation
- Open the invitation email (“You've been invited to join …”).
- Choose Accept invitation.
- Sign in with the same email the invite was sent to.
- After accepting, Clankee switches you to that team.
How to cancel an invitation
In Team settings, find the pending invitation and cancel it. You should see confirmation that the invitation was cancelled.
Expected behavior
- Invitations expire after 3 days.
- You cannot invite someone who is already a team member.
- You cannot send a second pending invite to the same email.
- Accepting with a different email than the invite fails.
Common mistakes
- Inviting a work email while the person signed up with a personal email.
- Waiting too long (invite expired).
- Expecting a project-only invite email (project membership is managed after team join).
Troubleshooting
